   27. Wealthy Affiliate, an affiliate website business

Wealthy affiliate is a fantastic opportunity for a successful home business. It is not a scam or a get rich quick scheme. It is a training and support platform to help you build an affiliate website. It is perfect for stay at home parents, a college student, someone without a job. Basically anybody who wants to learn and is willing to put in some effort.  There is a free starter membership that comes with 2 free websites. No risk to you.                          Please check out my review and let me know of any questions.

If you decide on a multi- level marketing business please be careful when ordering inventory. Some will say that, “you can’t sell from an empty wagon.” But people can wait a little while for their orders.  Heck Scentsy and Party Lite even make the buyer pay for the shipping charges. It hasn’t stopped my wife from purchasing their products. Businesses such as Mary Kay have quality products that have remained at the same retail price for at least the last 15 years.

Stay home Mom!

Some multi-level’s will pay the consultant up to a 50% commission on sales, and you  can earn extra money from recruiting others to join your team. Many will offer incentives like trips to exotic locales, or cars to increase your sales. If you go this route with a business make sure you research all of them. For example, if you are passionate about skin care, and make-up; find out the differences between the marketing plans of Avon, Arbonne, Lip Sense, and Mary Kay. Because really, if you’re going to sell a product, you will want to believe in it, and be rewarded with the highest commission, and recruiting rewards possible.

Some of the above business ideas are limited by the area you live in. In many cases the advantage is given to those that live in urban areas. We live in a small city of around 15,000 people and would find some of the above business ideas too difficult to make successful in our area.  Location is always a consideration.

I do know of people that are making a success of their small, home based businesses here in our small city. Many utilize Facebook to build their business. Some examples from our area are: Craft Business making wreaths, Salvage and Refurbishment of wood furniture, Gift Basket Business, Cleaning Businesses, and Graphic Design.

My wife has a school friend that was a practicing Lawyer when she realized that she was unhappy with her work.  This woman lives in a large city of 1 million people and runs a very successful house sitting business where she checks homes, waters plants, shovels walkways, and collects mail for clients that are travelling. She has found a niche that is rewarding and allows her the flexibility to raise her children, and volunteer at their schools, and sports activities.  Anytime you work, the work and life balance is incredibly important. I look forward to researching that topic in the near future.
